Thank you Scott for all your efforts in selling my Dad’s house in unprecedented times. It is hard to believe we were able to get that house cleaned out and ready to sell during a pandemic and to have it sell over the asking price after only 3 days on the market! You sure put in a lot of time and effort to achieve this impressive outcome. I was particularly impressed by the 25+ showings you did during those 3 days the house was on the market and your knowledge of what was required to get top dollar for the home. The sale process was smooth and uneventful – just the way I like it!
Our fears were quickly swept away when Scott administered key improvements to our property, which hadn't been on the agenda of our original realtor. Our house suddenly was revitalized, and a bidding war ensued. Scott expertly negotiated the sale, and when our home sold for far more than we'd imagined, it became apparent that this wasn't his first rodeo. Everything went smoothly, and we were kept in the loop throughout. Our house was sold with a clean offer; "as is, " all cash, no contingencies, and a blessedly quick close of escrow. Before we knew it, the deal was done, and we were sipping champagne with our friends at the goodbye party which Scott hosted for us in our gorgeous, stunning, Mid-century modern gem! I knew that Mom was twinkling down at us from the heavens. A job very well done.
A great pleasure working with Scott, Who came to us through our neighbor’s recommendation. I appreciated the time Scott took to carefully explain his home selling approach and outline how he would advance and protect our interests at every step of the sales process. Scott’s confident professionalism put me at ease about the prospect of taking a seat in the high stakes game of Palo Alto real estate. Scott went beyond the call of duty in many ways throughout the process of selling our house, particularly in investing much legwork into finding us new housing options, as well as finding and overseeing all the contractors and inspectors needed to prepare the house with landscaping, painting, cleaning, repairs and staging, tirelessly smoothing the way at every step, creatively surmounting obstacles, and generally providing a wealth of knowledge and positive energy. Can't see exactly how to rejuvenate the landscaping? No problem, he hand drafted a detailed site plan. Not sure which offer to pick? He can tell you which are solid and which maybe not so much. It’s a pleasure to work with people like Scott who really know and love what they're doing and far exceed expectations. In the end, I was particularly happy to have Scotts seasoned guidance in evaluating the offers he obtained for us. All told, I felt his combination of flexible, can-do attitude, real estate savvy, and endless energy was crucial to reaching a happy outcome.
To Whom It May Concern, In August of 2015, my daughter, her family, and | decided to buy a large home and live together. My daughter's family had returned to California from Wyoming. | had lived alone close to San Diego in a condo by the ocean for many years. To arrange this joining of our extended family, we engaged Scott Rutley as our real estate agent. His task was to assist us in both finding a perfect house for our family and in selling my Solana Beach condo as quickly as possible, while always being mindful of our resources. What a good decision it was to have Scott guide us through the difficult business we had ahead of us! Scott Rutley proved to be a most admirable ally in our quest. He made our satisfaction his ab- solute priority. We lived with his efficient, kind, and guiding hand throughout the process, while he remained always upbeat, generous, and patient. He accommodated our work schedules, children, and the occasional meltdowns along the way, with a ubiquitous calm and pleasantness that always impressed. He thoroughly understood the stresses and challenges of buying and selling a home. Further, Scott enjoys getting to know his clients; we have come to know him now as a personal friend. Scott knows the real estate business & how to work in it. He networked very well, connecting us with a fast-working loan officer of my chosen credit union, agents of properties we wanted to see, and most efficient escrow companies to keep the business on track. Those individuals and companies worked very nicely with us and with each other across the two properties to help our progress be seamless. In getting my Solana Beach condo ready for sale, Scott went above and beyond with a physical hands-on approach and technical innovation in selling. For example, he arranged to produce a stunning virtual tour of the Solana Beach condo by having a drone cam- era capture aerial views of the beach property along with the video tour of the condo itself. The condo sold in only nine days on the market. After a short escrow, we were able to move our extended family into our lovely new home where we are enjoying this new era in our lives. Scott continued following up even after the deals were done and the moving was accomplished. He continues to make sure details are completed. His motto seems to be “service, service, ser- vice.” In addition, Scott genuinely takes great joy and pleasure in satisfied and happy clients. Should | ever need a real estate transaction done again, Scott will be the first person | call. Further, | cannot recommend Scott Rutley highly enough to others as well.
My wife and I have just purchased a sweet little house in Laguna Niguel, Ca. We chose it after a long process, made stress-free by our realtor Scott Rutley. | say stress-free because | consider buying a home to be in the top five most stressful processes on earth. We happened upon Scott on Realtor.com and, after an encouraging phone conversation, decided that the chemistry was there to jump into the Orange County housing market — eyes wide open. Here’s why working with Scott was the best part of the experience. He was knowledgeable, the consummate realty professional and had the patience of a saint while he guided us through the seemingly unending search for just the right house. As we expanded our search into another county, Scott went so far as to join that county’s MLS so we could move full-speed-ahead without starting over. Scott is the type of agent who became family to us. He saw our needs, sometimes before we did, showed us houses that even he became excited about as we would discuss renovations, changes and the imperfections of someone else’s history. He never rushed us. Never pushed us one way or the other but guided us toward making the final decision on a house that was the perfect fit. We were lucky to find Scott Rutley, he’s on the top of our list if we make another move.
To whom it may concern, My ex-wife and I listed our property in Squaw Creek Resort two years ago with Scott Rutley and closed last week on a sale of the property. Over 20 years we have bought and sold many properties and have used many different agents. 1 cannot more highly endorse Scott's integrity, professionalism, work ethic, communication and determination on this sale. He worked tirelessly in one of the worst periods for a seller in decades, particularly for ski resorts. He treated us as if it were his own property with the kind of long-term attitude I see VERY rarely in real estate brokers. He kept us informed every step of the way without ever pushing. One of many tangible examples of his client service is when the buyer demanded a very quick close. We were not able to make it up to Tahoe to get all of our belongings, including furniture, from the condo. As a result Scott personally drove up, packed everything and returned to us in San Francisco. This project was made substantially more challenging for Scott given that we are in the middle of a divorce process, and he managed that sometimes emotional element with complete professionalism and empathy for the situation. In short I cannot recommend him more highly and will use him again whenever the opportunity arises.
844 Pine Hill Road, Stanford University, Ca Scott Rutley brings a wealth of competence and experience to the table. Scott creatively brought the property up to an appealing and improved condition, staging it simply to give an inkling of its potential, Scott used his culinary talents to welcome neighbors for the Open House and as well as a farewell party for the owner’s friends. Scott was engaging, flexible, helpful and a real pleasure to work with as he skillfully brought a sale price considerably higher than the appraisal.
